Private Residence, Ottawa CA
Featured in Ottawa Magazine ~ full article here.
This residence tells the story of George and Charlotte’s remarkable lives, with a design inspired by their international experiences and refined taste in art, textiles, and furniture. Working with her former design studio, Iron and Ivory, Kayla Pongrác was influenced by Charlotte’s British heritage, creating a space that blends the comfort of British interiors with modern sensibilities. Their love of books became a key element, with shelves integrated throughout the home, ensuring literature is part of every room’s design.
What began as a clean, modern vision soon evolved into a more layered, eclectic space, combining rich textiles, wallcoverings, and classic elements like wainscotting with bold colors. Kayla embraced the challenge, noting, “They took me out of my comfort zone,” as the design reflected their travels and passion for both art and design. The result is a space that is as personal as it is artful—a true collaboration celebrating the homeowners' vision and Kayla's creative journey.
